Day 1 - Arrive at Paro Airport. During the flight you will see breathtaking views of Mount Everest, Kanchenjunga and other famous Himalayan peaks, including the sacred Mount Jhomolhari and Jitchu Drakey in Bhutan. On arrival at Paro International Airport, you will be received and escorted to your hotel by our company representative.. Over night in Paro
Day2 - Sightseeing Morning: Drive to Drugyal Dzong (a ruined fortress – 16Kms away from Paro town). The fortress, although in ruins, holds great historical significance. It was from this fortress that the Bhutanese repelled many Tibetan invasions. The name “Drugyal” means the “victorious Bhutanese”. This spot offers a magnificent view of Mount Jhomolhari, “Mountain of Goddess”(Alt.7329 mtrs). Visit some typical Bhutanese farmhouse on the way back. Lunch ata standard restaurant. Visit the National Museum (Ta-Dzong). Once the watchtower for the Rimpung Dzong, it was converted into the National Museum in 1968. The Museum stands on a promontory overlooking the Paro valley in all its glory. Visit Paro Rinpung Dzong. A flagstone path rises gradually from a beautiful wooden cantilever bridge with shingle roofing, to the dzong. Today, the Dzong is the seat of the district administration as well as the home for the monastic school. The central tower (Utse) of the Dzong, with the superb woodwork, is one of the most beautiful in the nation. The Dzong was built in 1645 A.D.. Eveing drive to Thimphu which is an hour and half drive from Paro. Overnight in Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan
Day3 - Visit the Memorial Chorten, a huge stupa built in memory of the third King who reigned from 1952 – 1972. Visit the National Library where ancient manuscripts are preserved. Visit Painting School where traditional art is still preserved and students are taught traditional arts and 13 different traditional crafts. Visit the Handicrafts Emporium where you can buy Bhutanese textiles and other arts and crafts. . walk for a few minutes into the woods to see our national animal,Takin, a mythical animal. After which you will be taken for a drive to the Buddha point from which you will be able to have a land strectch of the whole of Thimphu. drive back to Paro. Overnight in Paro
Day 4 - Farewell from Bhutan at Paro airport.
